A prospective vendor's real ICP rarely matches one segment row exactly. Select multiple segments to model a superset ICP (e.g. "all trades") — the estimate sums their volume and blends cost by weight. Selecting a single segment when the vendor's real ICP is narrower (a subset, e.g. only "Roofing" within a broader segment) means that row is an upper bound, not the real number. If the ICP cuts across segments that don't nest cleanly (an overlap), treat the result as directional only.

Add a company size filter to narrow further, in any combination: industry + size, size only, or industry only. Leaving industry unselected and picking only a size models a vendor with no industry preference — or one selling into an entirely new industry we don't have a segment for — using that category's overall size profile as the best available proxy.

Research pool for BD to scout new categories and vendors to pursue — not yet in our product lineup, sourced from a Software Advice vendor scrape (989 vendors across 38 categories) plus Apollo TAM sizing.

Vertical categories (green) are sized by real buyer-industry breakdown, same method as Current Categories — TAM there means distinct target segments. Horizontal categories (purple) sell across virtually every industry, so they're sized instead by total addressable company count weighted by how realistic a buyer each company-size band is — TAM there means "companies of the right size," not a segment count. The two numbers aren't directly comparable — don't rank them together as if TAM meant the same thing in both.
